Black Widow is an upcoming marvel film. The release date for Black Widow is expected to 6 November 2020. The movie will be directed by Cate Shortland and will become the first time a female director will direct a movie alone for Marvel Studios. The movie is a sort of response to the request by fans for a Black Widow standalone adaptation after Iron Man 2 some 10 years ago. There are no details about the plot of the movie, though it might end up being a prequel at the widow’s dark past prior to Avengers. No expected release date for the movie yet, with the rocky start to the production not helping matters. Disney had fired James Gunn, the initial director for the movie, after some of his offensive jokes on Twitter some years before resurfaced. Opposition to the decision by colleagues and fans led to his rehiring. However, he had already gotten busy with another movie for Warner Bros. Thus, he would have to complete that first, before returning to direct this movie. Thus, filming might not start before February 2021.
