He was selected in December 2013 to play for Gauteng in their first-class match against the Border. This match was arranged by the CSA provincial one-day competition in which he showed his excellent skills by playing first class, and this was the performance which became the base of his selection on 2014 ICC under-19 cricket world cup.


Rabada is known as the youngest cricketer who won the six awards consecutively at Cricket South Africa’s annual dinner. Awards also contained some handsome money for the cricketers. While in 2018 he again came up with six awards at CSA’s yearly night and also blessed with the cricketer of the year award. He was also given a prize of ODI cricketer and Test cricketer of the year.
