Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker or Star Wars: Episode IX is one of the most anticipated upcoming Star Wars movies scheduled to be released on 20 December 2019. This movie will be the final installment in the latest Star Wars sequel movies trilogy. Even though a teaser trailer has been released, much of the plot remains unknown to the fans. Director Colin Trevorrow had stepped down from the project due to a difference in vision for the project, thus J.J. Abrams will be directing the ninth episode of Star Wars. This movie will see Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, John Boyega, and Daisy Ridley reprising their roles as Poe, Kylo Ren, Finn, and Rey respectively.
The movie will also have an appearance from the cast members of the original series including the late Carrie Fisher, Ian McDiarmid, Mark Hamill, and Billy Dee Williams. The character of Carrie Fisher will be pieced together using unused footage of The Force Awakens. The new star wars movie will also get a number of new casts like Keri Russell and Richard E. Grant. The movie is expected to hit the screens on the twentieth of December 2019.

Disney’s CEO Bob Iger mentioned that the production house had hired a writer for the previously unknown Star Wars 2020 film. This movie is expected to be a upcoming Star Wars standalone film and not within the chronological order of the main series. No details of the cast or director have been released.
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss Star wars series | Release Date TBA
The show runners of Game of Thrones are all set to make a series that consists of at least two movies. This movie series will be set apart from the usual episodic run and the newly announced Rian Johnson trilogy. These directors have been roped in to combine two of the biggest franchises of all time, Star Wars and Game of Thrones. The duo recently completed their work on the eighth season of Game of Thrones and is expected to get started on this series soon. The details of this series have been extremely secretive and no one knows what this series will be about. There are no clear ideas even about how many movies this series will consist of. The release date of the first movie in this series is yet to be announced.
New Star Wars Trilogy by Rian Johnson | Release Date TBA
The production house Lucas film announced that they will be making a trilogy that will build on Episode IX. At the very least, the first installment of this series will be written and directed by Rian Johnson, who has now been working with Star Wars for quite some time. This trilogy is expected to go to new places and meet new characters who have not been featured in the series before. The movie will be produced by Ram Bergman, who has been collaborating with Rian Johnson for a long time.
Even though the latest Star Wars movie The Last Jedi was divisive between the fans, Rian has been trusted with the series. There were rumors stating that the project had been canceled, but these rumors were told to be false by Rian Johnson, he had just been busy with other projects. He is all set to work on the series once he is done with his project, Knives Out. Knives Out is expected to hit theatres in November 2019 and hopefully, Rian Johnson gets started on the Star Wars next movies series as soon as possible. The release dates concerning this series are yet to be announced.
Star Wars: film on Obi-Wan Kenobi | Release Date TBA
This movie is yet to be officially announced, but a movie on Obi-Wan Kenobi has long been awaited. Details about this movie are not known but the director is tentatively considered to be Stephen Daldry. This spin-off will be similar to Han Solo’s stand-alone movie. No details regarding the release date or cast are available to the public.
Star Wars Anthology: Boba Fett( CANCELLED)
Star Wars Anthology: Boba Fett was set to tell the origin tale of Boba Fett. This bounty hunter has captured the hearts of many fans and many people wanted to know his backstory. This movie was initially supposed to be directed by Josh Trank but since then James Mangold has been brought in to replace him. This movie had been put on hold following the not so warm reception for Han Solo’s spinoff. Kathleen Kennedy soon stated that the project had been canceled.
